Go there, get a copy. Or I will send a 12 year old to live with you. (Those of you with a 12 year old can explain why living with one is a fate worse that high school.)

Another quick review from Mythusmage:p

Heh, perhaps not the best of reviews, but hey... its my first review. :) Hope you'll post your comments on rpgnow once you get the PDF.

I like the preview, and I'm looking forward to the book. It will make things a lot easier.

By the way, unless you're taking that edgy 3E character look to heart, I think on Table IV.7 the entry for 990-993 should read "Naval".

I just might.

BTW, if folks are interested, I've put together an unofficial "enhancement" for chapter four which sets the #structures per ward type by community type. A big help for folks using the thing.

Another blatant self promotion from the magnificent Mythusmage.:p

Thats why we made it all open. More people can use it. I got your enhancement, but haven't taken a look at it. Been in PDF hell lately doing editing and its something that requires an unsludgy mind. I'll look at it today.

Thanks!

Where can we download this enhancement? I checked your site and saw no mention of it.

Mr. Kellogg's enhancement is the first of our web enhancements under community support at http://www.exp.citymax.com/page/page/378335.htm

Its quite well done and if anyone wants to contribute to our web site, we'll look at it. If it's appropriate to what we're aiming for, well put it up.

Thanks Alan!

Thanks for letting me know where to download it. Took a quick look at it and it looks very interesting.

However, when I clicked on the link in your post all that comes up is a blank page. But when I go to your site and click on the Community link on the left, I get the proper page.

Oh, thanks Alan for creating this new table.

You're welcome.

I'm now working on a variation on my first contribution. In this one you get to roll one or more dice to see how many adults (population) or buildings (structures) you have per acre per ward type and community type. Below I have the figures for population and # structures per acre for a small town. The progression is from least populated/# structures to most populated/# structures

Small Town
Population
01. 23
02. 24
03. 25
04. 26
05. 26
06. 27
07. 28
08. 29
09. 30
10. 31
11. 32
12. 33
+2d6

# Structures
01. 11
02. 12
03. 12
04. 13
05. 13
06. 14
07. 14
08. 15
09. 15
10. 15
11. 16
12. 17
+1d6

If you prefer the simple way, roll the dice, add the base number, then multiply by the number of acres in the ward. If you like complicating things, you roll for each acre separately.

Let's say you have a small town with two acres of slums. The respective rolls are 5 and 2. So you would have 76 adults and 50 structures in your slum. But rolling for each acre separately gives you 5 and 9 for the population, and 2 and 5 for the # structures. Which means your slum has an overall population of 80 adults (38+42) and a total of 53 structures (25+28). I recommend the second method for small communities, and the first for large ones.

Once I'm done with this I'll be doing a demographic breakdown of occupations per 10,000 people. Right now I've established that for every 10,000 people there is 5/6th of a Magic Merchant. (The image of a fellow missing his lower left leg popped up, but that would be so wrong.:))

I have a set of numbers I've been working with off and on about businesses and services found in a community. If you like, I could email you the documents (there's only two).
