[Expeditious Retreat Press] Updates

I'm curious to see how you did this. How much effect did magic end up having? (I realize that it is hard, if indeed possible, to answer this in a reasonable amount of time, but I still want to know. :D)

This book is exactly what I've wanted to see/use/buy for the last month! I've been working on developing my world, you see...

Firstly we tried to remember the medieval mindset. Its not the modern one. We tried to filter everything through that mindset before making any changes to "historical" evidence.

We cross-referenced a lot of historical documents and reached a concensus. We always tried to consider the average, so GMs could modifiy from a base-line with little difficulty. Its always easier to scale up if you want more, but its often harder to scale down when you want less.

If your working on developing your world... :) This is the book for you. We'll take you from the macro-side (kingdom size, expected population densities, number and wealth of aristocrats, demographic manipulation tools, and an economic simulator) to the micro-side (statistics for developing individual communities from thorps to metropolises, as well as rural information concerning land and crops). We'll help you design your powercenters and their resources. And if you ever, ever, want to build something we have the most elegant comprehensive building system i've ever made.. :) ok i've only made one, but its still pretty good.

that's all the shilling i can do in one post..... I think the book will sell itself. But, i wont stop trying to help.

There's a discussion at Mortality net in the Cartography forum concerning magic and how it would affect crop growing.

Joe, I had a huge problem at your site when I went to visit. The links didn't work. None of them. Made browsing the place effectively impossible.

I am interested in your initial release. However, considering that you haven't even lined up a printer yet, I'd revise the print version release date to July at the earliest. Getting a book professionally printed is not something that happens overnight.

BTW, get in touch with Col. Pladoh . He and some mindless slaves of his (:D) are working on a series under the title, Gygax Fantasy Worlds These being books on the subject of creating and fleshing out a fantasy world. Upcoming titles include, Living Imagination, Daily Life, and Nation Builder among others. Your first would be a great resource for this project. I'd like to see if we can work out some sort of mutually beneficial arrangement.

In any case, good luck with the book (I'm spacing the title badly here, aaargh.:)), and I hope it is an harbinger of things to come.

I'll have to take a look. If you could would you try again? I'm not having problems with them and, so far no one else has. Perhaps we could isolate the issue?

I've already gotten some quotes, and in the process of getting more, so i think march is a likely date. Distribution on the other hand will take longer.

I'm rather interested in his work as well, but i cant seem to find his world builder at my FLGS yet, (they've never heard of it, dunno why) so i'll probably have to order it on-line. I'll send him an e-mail and see what he thinks.
