D&D (2024) Experienced DMs, how useful is the 2024 DMG to you?

TBF...The OP isn't about whether you like the book or don't or whether you're going to buy it or not... or how you feel about it. Its about how useful it is to experienced DM's. How do you know if you aren't using it, don't own it, decided it's not for you (without reading it) etc. Your opinion is uninformed plain and simple. You're spouting off opinion without any experience to back it up...

In the same way early on some claimed there were no variant rules only for those who actually owned the book to prove otherwise.
Again, do you see no value in reviews, or do you have to buy something to know whether or not you should buy it?

@darjr said above that they're just curious and not expecting much in the way of actual use. If the OP doesn't have a problem...
Doesn't have a problem with what exactly? "Much experience in the way of actual use"? That's still more than none. The funny thing is you're so ready to crap on the 2024 rulebooks you're not even answering or engaging with the actual question asked.

I've played since the beginning of the game fifty years ago, and I've already used this DMG more than the last one. I think it's useful for sure. I'll also just be stealing the encounters and maps more than last time. So for me, since your question was about how each of us feel for ourselves, very useful so far.

I'm not paying $50 so I can answer a forum question to your satisfaction. I will happily read the book if it is provided to me, but otherwise I am confident what I know of it is enough to make a call for me. I am also an experienced DM, so until I hear otherwise I feel that enough to be allowed to participate. It sounds like a great book for DMs in large part. I have bastion systems and lists of magic items that work for me, so the actual game content the book holds (so far as I know) is not especially useful to me.

The alternative of course would just be to not respond when you can't really answer the question. We all know your opinion of the game.

You could just, I don't know, let an opportunity to trash a D&D book go to waste?

Apropos of nothing...have you heard the good word of the Igbore feature?
