Expertise and multiple attacks

I don't have my books with me, but if you take a -5 off of an attack to add to your AC when using Expertise, can you take it from any of your attacks?

Example, if I get 2 attacks and my second attack BAB is +5, can I use that +5 bonus for my use of Expertise? Similar question, could I take 3 from the BAB of one attack and 2 BAB from the second and have a +5 bonus to my AC?

Benefit: When you use the attack action or the full attack action in melee, you can take a penalty of as much as -5 on your attack roll and add the same number (+5 or less) as a dodge bonus to your Armor Class. This number may not exceed your base attack bonus. The changes to attack rolls and Armor Class last until your next action.

Nope. The penalty counts for all you attacks in the round.

Like Power Attack, Two Weapon Fighting, and just about everything else, you take the -5 on all of your attacks.

Which is a shame really, since it means that anyone who has spent feats on two weapon fighting gets hosed again (as usual), while not providing any additional effect on 2H use.

Again, I wonder, why they decided to "correct" the "abomination" that people who had spent feats on TWF might under certain specific circumstances get an extra benefit out of power attack compared to 2HW, but completely ignored the way that normally dextrous TWF were less likely to benefit from spring attack or expertise than the 2HW fighter.

I'm not disagreeing with what the rules say... I'm just annoyed that all of Andy Collins mates like using 2H weapons :D

Not to hijack, but have you looked at Monte's Arcana Unearthed? Although it keeps the 2-feat method of 2WF, having both feats eliminates the penalty completely when using a light weapon - and there's also 'massive two-weapon fighting' that lets you treat any weapon you can hold in one hand as a light weapon. Combine that with the warmain's high-level ability to use larger-than-normal weapons and you've got a fighting style that's actually worthwhile.

(and now to hijack into house rules) I've been pondering allowing 2wf to attack with both weapons as a standard action - or possibly a feat - which would do a lot to even them out with the big blades.

Well, you do have Two-Weapon Defense feat, which I believe can stack with Expertise, moreso if you have chosen Fighting Defensively option.

For two-handed single-weapon users, they still lack a shield, not even a buckler. So all they have to rely on is Expertise, Fighting Defensively, and/or Tumble, in addition to their armor.

I wonder of TWF should get 1.5 or 2x the bonus for Expertise, as long as you are applying TWF penalties to your attacks in that round. House rules, of course.
