Looks like ED are as we expected: Martial Class general mechanic
They recognize the classes still need a unique schtick
Looks like feats will allow you to opt-in to maneuvers.
As a side, personal note: What about certain weapons granting a bonus maneuver? Shields grant "Block", short sword grants "parry", greatsword grants "cleave" etc? Might make weapons more meaningful. Give every one a default 1 ED (1d4) so even the cleric with a shield could "block" eg. Just a thought.
