Exploring the Hase-Suna Complex (Manzanita judging) [Concluded]

Kyle watches the group gather things up and then rolls slowly out the door, humming a merry ditty and heading back towards the kitchen.

Zurd is gathering up coins and goods not realizing at all that the light has been extinguished at first.

Then realizing the issue mumbles....

Wonderful relief on the eyes huh Kyle? <chuckling> Having that damnable light out is nice on the eyes, however, we can't have the lesser beings tripping about now can we.

Perhaps one of you who needs it thought to bring some torches?

<looking about for eye contact and rolling his eyes when he realizes it won't come>

If not lets light some of this old packaging to make some light in here while we finish then we can fashion some makeshift torches to get us back to the kitchen I guess unless one of you has some....

<again looking around for affirmation or fumbling for torches>

Lokin calmly opens his backpack and pulls out a fresh torch.

"Relax, I have a torch and another back-up if necessary. We may need more before we're through, but we should be okay for now. Let's drag some of this stuff to the kitchen and relax for a bit."

Lokin tries to light his torch with the dying embers of the old torch. He looks at Zurd

"Sorry about the light. I know how offensive it can be for the greater races but I just hope you can find a way to tolerate pathetics wretches like Payne and me."

With a new torch, the group moves all the loot to the kitchen, and Kyle begins to cook.
[sblock=Lokin and Payne]As he is cooking, you hear footsteps outside the door you came in.[/sblock]

Lokin sarcasm makes Payne snicker and she smiles softly towards the man. Moving up beside Lokin and his torch as they venture into the Kitchen, goodies under arm. Just as Payne sets aside the items and the door is closed.. she stiffens. Glancing to Lokin, assuming he is still close by, she mouths 'You hear that?'.. and quick draws her daggers.

Lokin nods and slowly draws his blade. Moving very quietly to soften the noise of his mail, he moves to the other side of the door as Payne, hoping to flank the enemy if it ventures through the door. Frustrated by the torch he holds in his off-hand, Lokin holds it away from his body above his head and against the wall, doing his best wall sconce impersonation. He also tries to catch the eye of one of his companions so he can silently warn them.

Kyle is too intent on boning and cleaning the rats to notice Lokin, or the sudden silence that has enveloped the room. He continues to rumage in his pack giving soft exclamations of delight as he finds various ingredients to use in the dish and deposits them next to the pile of bloody meat.

Kol looks up from almost nodding off and sees Payne and Lokin by the door poised for action. He tries at first to make out whatever Lokin was silently mouthing but decides whatever was going on the best solution may be his Axe. He hefted the thing above his head and waited to charge at whatever may come through the door.
