Exploring the Hase-Suna Complex (Manzanita judging) [Concluded]

( I'm beginnin' to dislike the out of orderness of play by post, eeesh. )

I guess, Payne stiffens a moment at the tone Kyle uses to get their attention. At this point, she had finished her rant.. and because Kurg had actually gotten between her and Zurd.. he never would have tipped her off to the orcs. Sighing. Daggers are slipped hastily into her palms as she now, for the first time, turns to look in the direction Kyle motioned.

Zurd, looks over to see what Kyle is talking about - he sees them...

<muttering> There they are - more obvious than teats on a boar hog!

He snaps to and begins to move in their direction....

Well, lets not let them get away....!

Kurg! Heel!

Without waiting for approval or consensus, he takes off toward the orcs (I don't know the exact distance so I'm estimating) he will move within range of his color spray [15'].

If the distance Zurd moves allows me to make a standard action I will also cast the spell at the orcs. (Again, this is conditional totally, I can't visualize the distance.) If I can't take the action - I'll just stand by till next round. Kurg, who is still in guard mode will attack whomever attacks me.

(I may have to adjust when we find out when initiative begins and what our results are.)

Lokin, with his torch aloft in his left hand, runs after Zurd, doing his best to keep the half-orc in view to act as a beacon.

(OOC: Lokin is only moving a standard 20' this round, as he doesn't know exactly where he is heading and, since he is going shieldless, he doesn't want to sacrifice his Dex AC.)

"Calm and careful. Calm and careful..." he seems to be muttering; more an expression of wishful thinking on his party's behalf than anything else.

This is how I'm picturing your position. I've placed you all in random order around the pool, since you hadn't given me any reason to suppose otherwise.

As fate would have it, this places the torch-holder, Lokin, just 40' of the last orc -- the limit of the torch's shadowy illumination. Only Zurd and Kyle can see that clearly.

Initiatives:
Kongu 19
Payne 17
Kyle 14
orcs 14
Lokin 13
Zurd 12
Kurg 9
Kol 8

Kongu looks back and sees the orcs. "What do we do about them? I'm just as happy that they evidently don't want to fight us." She draws her sword but does not begin to move in that direction.

Payne draws her daggers, also looking but not moving.

Kyle is next.

D20Dazza has had plenty of time to post, so I am going to assume that Kyle also readies a weapon but does not move toward the orcs until he gets a clearer signal that the others want to engage them in combat.

The orcs, noticing that they have been observed, start running at full speed, slamming the door behind them.

Lokin and Zurd may reconsider their moves, now that their is a door between them and their quarry.

Lokin rushes forward to open the door.

"We need to make sure they don't barricade the door or we could get trapped. I'm not planning on chasing them into the darkness."

Lokin, if the door opens, will not pursue any further.

He can move up to the door this round and open it next round. In the meantime... Zurd is next

Zurd (if the door in fact opens) will run past Lokin and through it....

Lokin, we can't let them get away....who knows what they'll bring back....get that bow out!

He will hesitate a moment in the hallway to see which way the orcs are headed, and along with Kurg attempt to close the distance.

If at any point in the round he gets within range of his spell he will cast it if possible. (see note)

[sblock=Note]I dunno if a spell can be cast on the run, like when chasing someone I have no idea what rolls one would make to try it so feel free to roll away Orsal.

My intent is basically to try and get close enough to try and get it off before they flee. [/sblock]

Lokin speaks, his eyes trying to piece the darkness before him.

"Why, so I can shoot at nothing at the dark. Even if I use the bow, I lose the torch. As you enjoy pointing out, we lesser races have weaker senses."

Lokin speaks flatly, with no hint of anger or annoyance.
