Kol opens the door on the left, having decided that nothing (nothing noisy, at least) is on the other side. It leads to another corridor, leading straight ahead, 5' wide and 30' long. At the end, it turns to the left. About 20' down there is another door on the left.

Lokin takes a peak in the newly opened door but is unable to see far into the darkness. When Kol mentions the other door, he nods silently and moves into a defensive position in front of the other door.

[sblock] Sorry for the length of time between posts but I was sent to Afganistan for a short time. I was supposed to be back before Thanksgiving but that didn't happen for me. Anyways, I caught up and am reaqdy to roll. [/sblock]

Zurd motions for the others to make a path for him so he can peer in with his darkvision.

Psst, let me take a look I think I might be able to see....

From the doorway, Zurd's darkvision doesn't reveal any more than Kol could already see. Nothing noteable stands out on the walls, except for the door on the left. And beyond 30', the corridor turns left, so you can't see what's on the other side.

If no one objects Kol opens the other door. (the one he listened at)

I thought that was the one you already opened:

hero4hire said:
Kol inspects the stonework to see if the glowing stones are even worth trying to pry out. Then he motions to one of the two doors and cups his ear against the door against the other attempting to discern any noise from beyond.

Since you didn't specify which one, I chose randomly. The result was:

orsal said:
Kol meanwhile listens carefully at the first of the two doors.

...which would be the one on the left, since the doors are on the left side of the passage. So when I asked

orsal said:
Which door -- the one where you already listened, or the one Payne indicated?

and you replied

hero4hire said:
Sorry, the left one.
I understood you were opened the door you had already listened at, ignoring Payne's unexplained preference for the other door:

She motions to the door on her right and nods to Kol to give the handle a try.

So, do you now want to turn your attention to that door? Open it, listen at it, check it over, whatever? Or does someone else -- Payne perhaps -- want to?

That door leads into a well furnished room, 20' wide and 30' long. There is a fine wooden bed with (rather old and tired) mattress in the corner immediately to your left. Next to it, along the wall is a masterfully built chest of drawers. On the right wall is a large wall hanging featuring depictions of battle scenes. Next to it is a shelf with several wooden and obsidian carvings. A carpet on the floor has seen its better days, although it was clearly quite beautiful in its time.

And inside the room are three small orcs, not fully grown. They have clearly noticed you are coming, for they are scrambling for the back of the room where they open -- is that another secret door? It evidently isn't secret any more. You see them hurry through as fast as their young legs can take them.

The largest of them (about 5' tall), in the lead, yells something in orcish: [sblock=orcish]"Quick! They're coming![/sblock]
