Extra Dimensional Container Questions

Some things are coming up in our group with regards to the extra dimensional container magic items; Glove of Storing, Heyward's Handy Haversack, Quiver of Ehlona, and of course the classic Bag of Holding.

1) Does time pass in an extra dimensional space? Would a cold beer kept in a Glove of Storing still be cold when you're ready to drink it? Would a side of beef spoil in a Bag of holding? Would a Greater Magic Weapon spell cast on a bundle of arrows run out if kept in a Quiver of Ehlona?

2) Does the extra dimensional space have orientation realative to the normal world? Might a full lantern get spilled in Heyward's Handy Haversack if there character moves around to much? Do all of the arrows, javilins, etc... fall out of a Quiver of Ehlona if the PC is held upside down?

3) Can a creature (if small enough) survive in the extra dimensional space? Could you carry your crow familiar in a Glove of Storing for safety until needed for scouting? Can I sneak a bunch of sleeping vipers in a Quiver of Ehlona into someone's camp? Might I use the largest Bag of Holding to stage a mass slave escape?

Believe it or not, every one of these (and more) have come up with some of my groups. I for one was trying to use a Wand of Teleport and 2 large Bags of Holding to free well over 500 halfling slaves overnight.

1) Yes. Hence why a BoH says "If living creatures are placed within the bag, they can survive for up to 10 minutes, after which time they suffocate"
2) No.
3) Yes if they can survive.

It depends on the item. A Glove of Storing, fr'instance, explicitly says that an item is held in stasis, but that spell effects continue. A Bag of Holding/Handy Saversack/Quiver is just a "bigger on the inside" container.
