Interesting that they highlight seafarijg swashbuckling for the Moonshae Isles...it fits.

The Viking-inspired Norlanders have been there since the start (which was literally the start of the setting, as Darkwalker on Moonshae was one of the first D&D products for the setting)

Am I mad or does Calimshan actually acknowledge that 4th edition happened?

Making it into some sort of post apocalyptic wasteland ruled by genies with small, high tech human compounds seems a lot cooler than "everything Edward Said said not to do". That being said, has Calimshan ever been described as having steppe before?

They are making it something unique to differentiate it from more standard fantasy Arabia Zakhara, should they wish to cover that area in the future. Honestly, I'm pretty intrigued.

The emphasis on Goliaths in the Icewind Dale was interesting, but otherwise Calimshan and Moonshaes were the most interesting to me

If events in RotFM are taken as canon, most of the Ten Towns was trashed by a robo-dragon, but two Goliath villages were left untouched.

Goliaths were such a big part of the Icewind Dale Adventure that theyvprinted the Race rules again , in the Adventure.

Still, they were firmly established in the text as present in the area, and as retcons go it makes good sense.

They are most useful if you want to make a goliath PC and want somewhere developed for them to be from.

That werepolarbear goliath got a really good MtG card on Arena, I use him as a Brawl Commander. I need to update his deck.

It's been like what 10 years or something so the ten towns have had time to rebuild.
