This almost seems like it would be better as a standalone, special combat encounter. Something that happens once or twice every long while instead of an ongoing, every encounter kind of thing.
An army of orcs are marching on the castle, and you and a contingent of (CHA mod+1) soldiers are sent to defend the northern pass and the surrounding farms!
