Eyes Of The Lich Queen: Ch. 2

Surprise Round... everyone gets a half-action.

Jango decides to prepare himself for the coming event and begins casting a spell of Mage Armor. He pulls out the small piece of leather focus and begins incanting and motioning the spell, which immediately springs the force barrier around himself. (Cast Mage Armor on self)

Unfortunately, a voice outside the building from around the corner can be heard shouting "Mage Armor! They're ready for us!" (Spellcraft check DC 16: [15] + 4 = 19 *success*) Apparently the elf's cavalier act of spellcasting is overheard by the spies outside and they recognize the sound as defensive spellcasting, and thus an expectation of some sort of attack.

Rogan hears the shout and immediately realizes their cover is blown. He springs out the door to the balcony, his hands pulling free his daggers, and turns to the right where Onyx was.

The rogue sees two spies waste no time in coming around the right corner of the building on the small ledge, and their eyes immediately lock with Rogan and Onyx. He thinks he hears additional footsteps on the ledge around the corner from where these two spies came from getting quieter as they go.

Ari follows Rogan out the door, his hand gripped tightly on his weapon... and Onyx advances on the first of the two men on the ledge to block their way.

Khalia throws a look at Jango and sighs, then invokes a quick blessing on the group. (Cast Bless on party.)

Horatio finally moves forward to place himself in front of Yellin so that the man is protected from anyone who might come in from the balcony, and the clothier has no problems with that... moving his back up against the interior door.

The battle is thus commenced!

Still not knowing exactly what they were up against, Khalia cast Bless in an effort to do something useful.

Brother Donovan, warpriestly human cleric

As the enemy identifies Jango's spell, Donovan realizes their unseen opponent has at least one spellcaster. In a cautionary bid to guard his charge from any magics, he puts a hand on Master Yellin's shoulder, saying "You are guarded by the flame, friend."

[sblock=OOC]Donovan's going to keep his guard position, and use his Protection Domain power to put a protective ward on Yellin (+5 on his next save within the next hour)[/sblock]

"Oh well..." react jango at the shout he hears. He moves on the balcony and whistle a signal for Griot to fly high. He doesn't know where he is but he should be not too far and prefer to know him to be out of reach for the moment.

He then spots the two on the ledge and cast a Glitterdust, englobing the two men, not wanting to kill these guys for the moment. It would be a good thing to learn what they are doing walking on the ledge.

OOC: Move action to teh balcony, free to whistle a quick order at Griot, standard to cast Glitterdust.

Keeping a look below so he can retrieve it later, Ari whips out one of his javelins and tosses it at the closest thug. He was counting on Onyx to distract the spy, and his capability to wound... though not kill...
