Fair way to get rid of player?

this is the best and most realistic-sounding trolls I've read in quite some time.

Too bad I :):):):)ing hate trolls.

having a handle of "Olidammara" is a nice tough, though...

We're packed like sardines in the game I run at my house. It was getting pretty bad, so bad I was almost hoping someone wouldn't make it each week even though that in itself causes a major headache too.

We've had one person take a temporary leave to do some military training thingy, and another take a more permanent leave (semi-reluctant spouse of a player playing) and it's freed up a lot of room. I could still use a bigger room though.

Go buy a d7 then roll some one out of the group.

Of if you are too cheap to buy it roll a d8 and hope you don't roll yourself out of the game.

When I read the title of this thread I immediately thought it would be the usual "problem child" player. But so far I can't fathom why it is you want to get rid of a player. I think some clarification would be nice before anyone can offer any real advice, otherwise we're just guessing as to what your motives are.

And as for the redhead, I find that as long as a player isn't unreasonably insistant (like I am when I'm a player...), that I actually like players piping up if I get a rule wrong. That way we all learn the proper way to do things and then, if we don't like it, we can change them. So in my opinion, the redhead is an asset, not a liability :)

Edit: Has anyone bothered to look at Olidammara's profile? He lists his occupation as...wait for it...professional bugaboo.

Case closed.

Hmm. Did Bugaboo make his userID OGC? If not, Olidammara may need to start forking over some of the profits :D Bugaboo'd love that!

 Hmm... Do you really have to do that? Why? Aren't any other solutions open to you? Also, what is the optimal size for your group, anyway?
(Mine is 3-4, BTW.)

That's nice of you: If someone volunteers to go, the problem solves itself quite well. :)
But wait - the first part of your post implies that you are the DM! What would happen if you left?

I was not endorsing dropping the player. I was expressing complete astonishment and incredulity at the suggestion. And the original poster was a troll anyways. I'm surprised so many people actually rose to the bait and suggested ways of dropping a player.

bob..bring your card table to connect with mine.

There is no way I'm hauling a table all the way to Connecticut, never mind Oerth! Besides, there's a bunch of stuff piled on it.

I can relate to your problem, Olidammara, and I think that many others can as well; they just don't like to think back to the times when they had to take a hard look at their groups and reduce them to the optimal size.

We always used the tried-and-true method: assassination. A couple of bucks spent in the right part of town, a favor called in, and bammo! Somebody's brakes fail on a long dangerous hill, or they fall into the shark tank at the aquarium just before feeding time. Dibs on their characters' stuff!

It's always worked quite well.
