Familiar, Familiar, who's got the Familiar?

use the draconic template instead of the celestial template? ... (it gets str, con, cha and claws!)

how would a crested felldrake be? ... kinda similar to a pseudodragon

attached the pdf, it was on the WotC site way back ... and I can't find it in the archives either.

Have you used one before? How did it work out? Is it any good in a fight? (Though granted it' fighting ability is actualy down pretty low on my list of what I want.) I guess I am more looking for something intimidating.
More intimidating? :p

Scare (Ex or Su)

As a standard action, a krenshar can pull the skin back from its head, revealing the musculature and bony structures of its skull. This alone is usually sufficient to scare away foes (treat as a Bluff check with a +3 bonus).

Combining this scare ability with a loud screech produces an unsettling effect that works like a scare spell from a 3rd-level caster (Will DC 13 partial). A creature that successfully saves cannot be affected again by the same krenshar’s scare ability for 24 hours. The shriek does not affect other krenshars. This is a supernatural, sonic mind-affecting fear effect. The save DC is Charisma-based

I've used them as allies of gnolls. It was great; a few krenshars snuck into the camp past the watchman (they're sneakier than the gnolls), woke the party with their scare howl, and then the gnolls fell upon them. Krenshars and ankhegs are absolutely some of my favorite monsters to use.

Umm, Krenshar not intimidating??did you look at the picture in the MM1?? that looks pretty scarry to me. ;)

and thats nothing compared to it's abilities(ie the scare thing)

EDIT: if you want something MORE intimidating, use what I had a group of 5 10th level players go 30 miles out of their way to avoid. A giant skunk. :]
