Famous last words of heroes

"If we don't rest right here at the exit I am going back to my horse, alone." - PC after the party had just survived travelling on foot through a tunnel infested with blood-sucking bats. Needless to say that the PC did not survive the trip back through the tunnel...

"The rest of you get out of here. I can take them" says the 10th level cleric, standing just inside a portal to the abyss.

In fairness, he had a way to close the protal, and intended to sacrifice himslef to save his homeland from the demons. But still, we all noticed just what a ridiculous statement it was.

A few gems from my experience

We come upon a 10' x 10' room with some trolls in it. We had found a strange potion a while ago, which the rogue was carrying (a Draught of Fire, maximum safe dosage of 5 swallows)
Rogue: I take five swallows of the potion we found and breath into the room.
(killed the trolls, alright, but it came around and scorched the entire party. He died.)

Facing a dragon that we didn't know was an illusion. Entire party, save for me (the party bard) was swarming the illusion, while I hang back by the entrance. The wizard finally manages to hit it (don't ask me why he decided to try to melee a Dragon, I just don't know), and the illusion dissappears. Guess where the real dragon was...
Me: "[explitive deleted]! I turn and swing at it.

Um... that's all I can think of at the moment...

From back in the days when wishes got you anything you didn't want:

"I wish for a million gold pieces!"
--One million gold pieces fall on the character from miles high in the sky. For 1 HP damage each. Ouch.

"I wish I couldn't die."
--Imprisonment spell. *evil grin*

"I wish for 18/00 strength."
--Genie sets his strength to three. How should a Genie know what the hell 18/00 even means? Player tries to stop rolling boulder.

"I wish all my stats were boosted."
--Me: "Add 0.001e+-99 to each stat, and put a 100 in your new stat, buffoonery. Now, make a fumble check."

"I wish I had a spell that killed all my enemies."
--Magic-User gains first level spell, Power Word Kill Everyone.

"On your way out of the Blade Barrier, would you mind dragging my unconsious body away from the Wall of Fire?"

The guy playing our party mage to the guy playing the barbarian who doesn't take direction well.

Words from a fighter to a wild mage : "Do your worst!"

"It's just a DEMI-lich, it can't be THAT bad! It's like 10% of a lich. I'll take this one alone."

"Nice rack!"
