Fans of long series of big novels, sound off!

Ones I've enjoyed, in no particular order as quite different series:

Malazan book of the fallen and various spinoffs by Ericson and Esslemont.

Wheel of Time by Robert Jordan.

Chronicles of Black Company by Glen Cook.

The Pern novels by Anne McAffrey.

First Law series by Abercombie.

Terry Brooks Shannara series - though it tends to be some - the first one is painful, but I like books 2 and 3, and the Scions of Shannara quartet.

I liked David Eddings books, but like Jian can't read them anymore now I know what author did.

Midkemia series by Feist.

Aeon14 series by MD Cooper (sci fi).

First Man in Rome series by Colleen McCullough (historical fiction).

Rivers of London by Aaranovitch.

Horus Heresy series by various.

Discworld novels by Pratchett (I think they count :) ).

I want to try more of the Recluce novels by Modesitt as well, to see if can put on list.

Saga of the seven suns by Kevin J Anderson was so good I was churning through a book a day. Few years later and I ran through follow up trilogy and its prequel.

A couple more I just thought of: Jeffery Deaver's "Lincoln Rhyme" series, about a crippled forensic criminologist; and Jonathan Maberry's "Joe Ledger" series, about a Delta-Force sort of organization that deals with the "X-Files" kinds of issues: zombie outbreaks, alien technology, genetically-enhanced killing machines, that sort of thing.

It's the closest thing I've ever read to how my group plays D&D.
Same, this book feels so much like a good home game of D&D. Haven't finished it yet, but it might be one of my favorites this year!

Regarding long series I have a love hate relationship. On the one hand it gives you the chance to really deeply immerse yourself into a vast world and deep characters. On the other hands they are big time sinks and unfortunately a lot of authors seem to be trapped with the idea of having a big fantasy series, but are not able to generate enough ideas so they seem to bloat the stuff they have and it becomes really annoying to read and I feel disrespected as a reader.
