Agree with Artoomis, et. al. on the polymorph equipment sizing issue.
Huh. Okay then, I was wrong.

It's a silly thing, tho'.

So....you all are telling me that you use the "naked polymorphing" rule? Facinating. Remind me not to show up for your games without spandex. :D

Technically, the full plate does not need to be resized when the dwarf polymorphs into a gnoll because the necessary condition for resizing is that a new owner is using it. The dwarf and the gnoll are not different owners, they are the same owner, only in different shapes.

According to the rules, as long as a full-plate wearer maintains a shape of the same size and armor wearing capability, he can polymorph into whatever he likes and the fullplate will still fit.

Heh heh.

A suit of full-plate would also be a fool-proof way of verifying a character's identity. Worried that a clone/simulacrum/doppelganger has taken the place of the dwarf? Just make it try on the armor- if it is indeed a new owner, the armor won't fit without being resized.

Incidentally, this also verifies if the person resizing the armor a master armorsmith; if they are not, they won't be able to resize the armor.

If the Hulk can rip most of his clothes off, and characters like Chewbacca and the Cave Troll from Lord of the Rings can walk around naked, then so can my players. :)
