[Farscape] Release date???

Sigh... Maybe it'll come out at GenCon this year, if I'm lucky.

I wonder... are they going to have human as a possible race? I wouldn't think so (it would be silly to have hundreds of humans running around instead of only one), but you never know.

Mark

How is that? The only human to arrive in Farscape's neck of the woods was through a freak wormhole experiment.

Use Dragonstar

I have been very pleased with the Dragonstar rules. I am going to use these to do a Farscape game.

That'll gimme something to do until April 5th when the new shows start.

Assuming they stat out the main characters, I would think that they would HAVE to provide racial stats for humans.

Granted, in game terms, a human isn't really all that different from a Sebacean (add a propensity to overheat, and voila, you have a Sebacean). Maybe they just include stats for a Sebacean, and then tweak those stats for Crichton. Maybe they include human stats, with the caviat that they shouldn't really ever be used to play a "human from Earth" but rather "an astonishingly similar species from another planet".

In any case, I doubt they'll include racial stats for humans, without some sort of sidebar explaining why straight-up human PCs should be non-existant in the game, if not exceedingly rare.

Dragonstar/Dnd Farscape

I haven't put hard numbers/rules to it yet, but I have been playing with the idea of a one-shot Farscape game. As a computer programmer, I subscribe to the KISS (Keep It Simple, Stupid) principle.

Humans, Sebaceans, Nebari and anything with no special abilities: Use Human for race.

Sebaceans' heat sensitivity would probably involve Fortitude saving throws to avoid losing temporary ability damage--miss two roles in a row and take permanent ability damage.

Use Half-orc stats for Luxans? Make qualta blades an exotic weapon that takes a standard action to convert between modes (bastard sword and blaster rifle).

Delvians have some interesting abilities: like blooming and causing major allergic reactions when they get hungry.

Hynerian: Use Halfling stats.

ok, classes then (you can argue levels and ability scores ad nauseum):

John Crighton Expert/Pilot/Fighter [Expert for being a scientist? or just ditch Expert for levels in Pilot? Definitely weighted toward Pilot]

Aeryn Sun: Pilot/Fighter [weighted toward fighter I think]

Ka D'argo: Fighter

P'au Zotoh Zhaan: Cleric [cut down the spell list? or just use Psion?]--editorial: it sucks that they killed off Zhaan!

Rygel XVI: Aristrocrat/Rogue [I'd also give Rygel a low Constitution and Strength since he's a pampered Dominar who's never done anything for himself. Maybe the Negotiator PrC in Dragonstar?]

Chiana: Rogue [High Charisma obviously--maybe even give her Charm Person 1-3x per day for fun ;)]

Jool, Stark, Pilot, Crais: We have enough PCs for a good game above. These guys could be NPCs or extra players for a big game

SPOILER!!!!

Maybe you'd like to mark that for those of us that haven't seen that season yet!

I'm only replying because I used to be a Farscape fan during the early seasons while it was still science fiction and not science porn.

However, through the season and 4 episodes I actually liked the show, in D&D terms Zhaan would be a Cleric/Monk/Psion. I think Monk because of an episode involving Tavleks.

I may still give the game a look when it comes out.

O.K., and for the poor residents in France, like me, where (I think) Farscape hasn't been released...

What is Farscape (I suppose it's a TV sci-fi series)?
Where can I find mor einfo?
Are ther any website with info, photos and so on?
