Fast Healing and fire damage

First Post
From the SRD:
FAST HEALING

At the beginning of each of the creature’s turns, it heals a certain number of hit points (defined in its description).

Unlike regeneration (see below), fast healing does not allow a creature to regrow or reattach lost body parts.

A creature that has taken both subdual and normal damage heals the subdual damage first.

Fast healing does not restore hit points lost from starvation, thirst, or suffocation.

Fast healing does not increase the number of hit points regained when a creature polymorphs.

It doesn't mention anything about fire (or acid) damage not being healed, like in regeneration. I've always thought of fast healing as a "lesser" regeneration. So does fire damage heal with this ability?

Fast healing heals all damage, unless otherwise specified.

Also, note that some creatures have regeneration that does work vs. fire and/or acid; their regeneration is overcome by other types of damage. For example, according to the SRD, gelugons have regeneration, and take normal damage from holy and blessed weapons (of at least +2 enchantment).

Good cuz it is. =o)

Once you reach 0hp if you have fast healing you die. =o)

Regeneration is better, hence why they have to give it some drawbacks. First off, it turns all damage into subdual damage. Then it heals a certain amount of that damage. Plus you can regrow lost limbs or reattach limbs that have been lost. They have to add in lethal damage otherwise a creature with regeneration wouldn't be able to be killed except with death effects.
