Favorite 1st level module?

I played throught the Secret of Saltmarsh in a PBP in 3rdedition, and it was great fun. Plus we ended up owning a manor. Yay!

Currently, it would have to be the WLD. You can start up your PCs at 1st level very easily.. And watch them grow. :) And for a dungeon crawl, there's a surprisingly good amount of RP and non-dungeon areas to be had.

I'll also chime in and say Sinister Secrets of Saltmarsh ,in almost 20 years of DMing [dang I'm still a newbe] I've started more campaigns with this module then all the other resources I own combined.

My second favorite being the little dungeon in the basic D&D red book. It's a nice simple dungeon crawl to get things going.

Wizards Amulet+Crucible of Freya.

I don't own many low level modules (1-3) because I find thats when I need to be writing my own modules in preperation of whats to come.

Well if you have a web link to an otherwise unpublished one that would be cool too.
not a web link.

just a few 3 ring binders and folders full from adventures i've used for my campaign.

i keep everything and hoard all the goodies.

written for OD&D(1974) of course. :D

I'm gonna have to put in Lifes Bazaar from dungeon 97.
Even as a standalone adventure it has everything you could want to start players off and take them anywhere from there.
Great town map and dungeons, interesting plot and good hooks

From Dungeon I've used Evil Unearthed by Jeff Grubb from the first 3e issue (#83?? ) can't remember at the moment, but that is good for 1st level characters.

Yeah, Evil Unearthed is a great 1st-level adventure. Actually, it is in the first 3e issue, which is issue #82.

"Gorgoldand's Gauntlet" was originally published in Dragon Annual #5, but also appeared on the freebie CD-ROM that shipped with specific issues of Dragon, Dungeon, and Star Wars Gamer.

Night of the Walking Dead

'nothing like a good zombie adventure set in a bayou with an ominous prophecy to get folks into adventuring. ;) Mind you, changing the prophecy to suit your campaign is probably best, but you could have some real fun running it straight up and seeing where the players lead you with their assumptions.

Yes, it's Ravenloft, but this seems to be one of the most easily portable Ravenloft modules for regular campaigns.

My choices....

1) The Crucible of Freya with The Wizard's Amulet free download. Possibly the best First level module I have ever had the pleasure of running.

2) NeMoran's Vault with the Quest for Amelia downloadable expansion. An excellent well thought out adventure. This module also looks like it would be a great start for a Ravenloft campaign.

From Dungeon Magazine...

3) The Raiders of Galath's Roost by Skip Williams (Dungeon #87). This is one adventure in two parts IMO. You can use he first half as an excellent adventure by itself to start a campaign. The second half IMO, is optional. If you are running an FR campaign, the second half is recommended.

4) Mad God's Key by Jason Bulmahn (Dungeon #114). I used this to jump start a Greyhawk campaign. As other people have noted, it's a great start to any campaign.

5) Ever-Changing Fortunes (Dungeon #85). This is one starting at 2nd Level but easily modified for first level and an excellent work IMO. I forgot who wrote it, I belive it was Peter Zollers, IIRC.
