D&D 4E Favorite 4E classes(all)

What is your favorite 4E class of all time

I love the warlord. I'm just drawn in by its superior tactical choices, and all the cool things I can do to manipulate the battlefield "facts on the ground". Too bad I'm the DM currently, bah! My first character in a game will definitely be a human Warlord.

I really like the flavor of the Far Realms-pact warlock. Cultist of Yog'Shoggoth? Count me in!

But I'm a rogue at heart, and 4e's rogue has me wanting to stab my opponents in ways I never knew a mere rogue could.

I'm definitely loving shelling out 20 damage a turn with even a level 1 rogue.

Heh, I was lucky on the die rolls during a few encounters last game and was dishing out an average of 20 points of damage with my rogue. I think the lowest I rolled was 17, but that was only once, and the rest were between 19 and 21.

I think the DM and everyone else thought I was cheating til they checked my character and the rules :D

I like most of the classes, but the warlock just drips delicious flavor. To make it even better, it's three types of delicious flavor: fireball-hurling diabolists, fey tricksters, and my personal favorite, cultists of the Great Old Ones. Even if other classes might be mechanically superior (especially to the poor star warlock), I adore the class for its ideas and fluff.

I've always been a paladin guy, but I find myself really drawn to the Fey warlock here ... it's strange to me. But how can you not like blipping around the battlefield, blasting people and messing with their heads?

Doesn't hurt that they multiclass well with the paladins I love so much ;) I'm really tempted to also try an infernal lock/fighter multiclass...

Boy, Arcaman, your bar for "of all time" is awful low.

In my limited experience, I went for paladin. I like the feel of the class, and its abilities. But I have only played three classes thus far, and none of them for long.

I am part of a 3 player party playing at L8 and 2 of us are making second characters to fill out the party. I told my friend to make what he wants and I'll fill the last role w/something (currently I'm playing a Wizard). I have 5 characters made of level and the only one I have no real interest in is the Ranger. The Infernal Warlock looks like a lot of fun to play, the Warlord would mix well in the group, the Halfling Brawny Rogue I already picture w/a swagger and he's rather a badass. The character that had the most personality pop into my head for him tho is the Paladin.

Diplomat for his church, schooled in many languages (the wizard has all of em heh), he has signed treaties w/many of the more barbaric races nearby. He's a half elf and picked up Tide of Iron so he can get in the fray and help defend his allies, pop some good heals off and use his Charisma bonus to good effect all around.

I hated Paladins in earlier editions. I wanted to like them, but Lawful Stupid (and alignments in general really) was not something I enjoyed. As a worshiper of Pelor, he's Good, but there is a lot more grey in alignment these days. I'm pumped and kinda hope my friend doesn't go for Artificer, cuz then I would probly wanna make a better damage dealer heh. Fighter, Cleric, Wizard before we add extras.

I've wanted to play the Warlord class since I started in AD&D. Heck, I made a Bard/Fighter in Eberron that was basically a Warlord. It's my dream class.

The same seems to be true for me, except I didn't realise it before.

I have played a Bard/Virtuoso with 4 levels of Fighter to level 21 (so far) in 3.X, loving the versatility and the ability to take on the party role that needs more support at any given time. Wednesday night my new tactical Warlord with a smattering of Wizard took its first steps. And I couldn't believe how well it fit my gaming preferences, and how much fun it was even though the session was basically one long fight against low level monsters. (Not the DM's fault, we just couldn't help wandering around while we were fighting...)
