Ah, yes, the PEF syndrome -- elves, Vulcans, Romulans, ... (For those not in the know, that's "Pointy-Eared.. err... Fellow [or whatever 'F' you choose]".)

I, too, am somewhat of an elf-hater. Not because of elves themselves, really. I think I've just met too many people on and offline that take elf fandom way too far. These are people who actually sit down and study the Tolkien language of elves, have long discussions about elf history and culture like they were real and probably wish they were elves themselves. I can't really explain why, but this has given me some kind of primal aversion to elves in general. Unconsciously I compare them to Furries and Japanophiles I guess.

I only put the three that are new to the PHB nothing else Rien de Chose

That's unfortunate, because with the new system and all, every race presented is pretty much new or re-imagined. Half-elves come to mind as making the biggest comeback ever going from "why would anyone play this" to "holy crap these guys are awesome/totally sweet now."

Actually, I personally don't really find the three presented races particularly interesting. Tieflings are probably the least inspired, Dragonborn are okay but I don't like their fluff.

Humans are my fave. From the new races I like dragonborns for their sheer awesomeness. I don't like eladrin because their racial bonuses both affect the same category (INT and DEX for REF) which I find makes them unsuited to most builds, although teleporting is useful.
