favorite *new* final fantasy

I remember playing the FFVII demo over and over again. The graphics, audio and FMV were just so amazing.

I was hyped for VIII, played throught the first 2 disks and was having a decent time. Then I got about halfway throught the 3rd disk and simply lost interest. Haven't played it since.

I never played IX altho I may someday.

X wasn't even a game... It was a movie, that you occasionaly had to press a button to keep moving.

Of all time? VI. No contest. Though if I had to pick a second, it would either be Seiken Densetsu III, or Tactics.

So many people say that. I still think IV is though. The plotline was incredible, with love, hate, longing, betrayel, all of it. The absolute best part for me was the music at the beginning and end. It was so magical...I've downloaded a gazillion different versions of it. The vocal version, "Pray", is one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard.

Actually, I thought they borrowed too much from FFVII for the movie. Just a thought.

It was possibly because it was my first FF, but IV is my all-time favorite as well. The music, with the story along with the general difficulty level were perfect. I had never played a game like it before. While I really loved VI, VII & X, IV will always have a special place in my heart.

But since this is supposed to be about "next-gen" Final Fantasy games, I am really looking forward to FFXII and FFX-2 (but not as much). I haven't been excited about a FF game since XIII came out and that dissappointed me overall and soured the series. But X has renewed my interest. Go Square-Enix!
