I actually had a player who did this. Then I learned he would sometimes be playing World of Warcraft when he got bored. He doesn't play with us anymore.

For me it is Pcgen and data sets from the Code Monkeys (and my Mac, of course). It saves mucho preparation time so I can spend more time actually playing. As a bonus I get easy to read printouts.
