I've neglected using puzzles in my D&D games due to a few bad experiences while playing in other campaigns, but I'm curious if any veterans of published adventures have had positive experiences with them that I could look into for inspiration.
Hi, sorry if i come always to that reply: my favorite puzzles are in Amber Castle.
Re to the fact puzzles could be disappointing, i am curious if that experience is somehow tied to the fact that the brain called to work on the puzzle is the one of the player and not the one of the PC (i.e. if a clever player is role-playing a dumb fighter he will however have the real capabilities to work out a difficult puzzle... Will he role play or not? Ah, i don't take the other way round situation... It's even more embarassing...)
