Forgotten Realms *GREY BOX*, thankyouverymuch.

An interesting world with a rich history and colorful characters---a *perfect* setting for adventure.

Great Sembian Peace Wall not included, of course.

No Twisted Rune, no Menzo, no freakin' Cyric, no Maulagrym, no Ao, et al. Definitely not the bucketful of pablum that is the 3e Realms.

Another vote for Planescape. No setting comes close in both giving you wonderful ideas and yet giving you room to do your own thing.

Planescape is my all time favorite. Dragonlance has it's moments, Ravenloft is (in my opinion) a much better gothic setting than World of Darkness, Forgotten Realms is a sea of ideas to pirate from, Rokugan might be fun to adapt ideas from for a setting I've been thinking of making based on Tibetan mythology... but Planescape is still the best.

Kalamar and Greyhawk don't excite me... Scarred Lands looks interesting, but I've been kind of put off by the low quality of their first book (the CC) (although I loved R&R).

Dusk was vastly influential on my 2nd edition campaign... Mike Morris made the Skills and Powers system REALLY WORK- I used his alternate Dusk rules up until 3E came out. His 3rd edition stuff has been pretty good as well... I can't wait to hear what he has planned next (and I'm hoping and praying that he submitted a proposal for the WotC setting contest- if he won, I'd be a very happy man).

Faerun RULZ, Greyhawk DR00LZ!

Yeah so..there's this castle called um..Greyhawk. It's in a city named Greyhawk. And under the castle is level after level after level after level of dungeon crawls..um... just because!

Bleh.
