Birthright and Al-Qadim beat all others in terms of originality and sheer elegance.

Planescape and Dragonlance will always hold a special place in my heart.

Mystara and Greyhawk are cool.

Forgotten Realms is indifferent for me.

Dark Sun is the only setting that really never held ANY appeal to me....

And what does that make the Scarred Lands?! :) :p

Another PS fanboy here.

Heh. Looks like *we're* beating FR now!

Take that, you hodge podge of cultures with uber-heroes doing all the *real* work! :)

Okay, okay, it's a bit hypocritical of a PSer saying that, since we've got GODS! ;)

And 3rd Edition Planescape is going to ROXXOR!

I'm already writing a PS-ish book on philosophies for Silicon Phoenix Gaming...

GET YOUR FIX, YOU DROOLING MASSES OF FANBOYS! YOU MUST BUY MY BOOK! MWHAHAHAHAHAHA!

....Did I mention I get paid on commission. ;)

BARSAIVE ! EARTHDAWN !!

Setting wise its very good... solid story... FR looks more like a mosaic than a setting...

Well, if we leave the realm of AD&D and D&D, you are certainly right.

Earthdawn is still the best campaign setting and gaming system for me.

Too bad it wasn't run by a large corporation with huge amounts of money who could keep it running....

I knew Nightfall would come along sometime or another... :D

I believe the Scarred Lands has one of the best background stories in a fantasy setting, but still is too young to be a classic that would qualify for best of all time.

Give it a couple of years and it will grow on everyone's minds, including mine. Okay, it has already grown in mine, but you know what I meant, didn't you? ;)

P.S.: One setting I am very interested in, but still haven't found the book to buy is Kingdoms of Kalamar. Everyone that has it says it's great, I want a taste of that too....

Faerun RULZ, Greyhawk DR00LZ!

Heh Heh....looks like Toril is getting what it really deserves at last! A sound kick into the teeth of Ed Greenwood. Take that, Elminster! Heh Heh just kidding.

I guess this means that: Planescape Rules and FR Drools!

Also considering that quite a few of FR's gods are living in the Outer Planes it means they kind of have to take a back seat to it anyway. LOL

In all good humor...a little rain on the parade...the melting pot of cultures of the singular world of Toril is unmatched for a Prime Material world setting. Kalamar can't compete with the political intrigue going on in the FR setting either, IMO. From Thay to Waterdeep to Shou Lung all over there's so many plights of kings and other rulers to keep debaters in practice for years.

At least, until another, more colorful setting rolls along into the spotlight *crossing fingers*. Heh Heh

[edit- um duh! Why didn't anybody slap me when I was calling the FR world Faerûn instead of Toril?]
