RUSH... all else pales in comparison

After that it's a tough call...

I discovered a few years ago, much to my surprise, that I had come to like Rush. When I was a young'un, back in the day, all my friends worshipped the ground they walked on, and I spent many nights being tortured by Geddy Lee's voice. I always dug the music, and the lyrics, but just couldn't stand to be in the same room when it was playing.

I attribute the fact that as I got old(er) my ability to hear at the high end naturally degraded, and whatever sound that set my teeth on edge had become inaudible to me.

My Favorite band is Iron Maiden, been a fan since 1989....though I have 6 unused ticket frame in my office....each time I was suppose to go to a show something bad would happen to the family and thus I don't get to go....sucks...

Ludwig van Beethoven, The Chad Mitchell Trio, The Beatles, Siouxsie & the Banshees, Tori Amos, and The Ditty Bops spring to mind. :)

Hmm ... bands? ....

I would probably have to say it is a toss up between Altan, the Battlefield Band, Silly Wizard and the Chieftains. Haven't been listening to a lot of that kind of music recently, but if the category must be limited to bands, they would be my choices.

The Police.

Been waiting to see them on tour for, what, 24 years now?

Finally! :)

Hey ... I used to really be into the Police in my high school days. Good choice sir.

But to be honest most everything that Sting has done since 1986 has bored me to tears. :\

Ludwig van Beethoven ...

Hmm ... ... could you technically consider him a "band"? Don't get me wrong! I love classical music even more than contemporary forms of music. But I guess I had thought the thread was devoted to "bands" per se. :\

Ah well. No big deal.

Edit: Added a question mark per Torm's proofreading. Thank you! :)
