The major American thrash and Death Metal bands, as well as plenty of other lesser known bands. Anthrax, Testament, Overkill, Suffocation, Sadus, Death, Exodus, Suicidal Tendencies, D.R.I., Death, Morbid Angel, Obituary, Benediction, Pestilence, Diabolic, Brutality, etc. etc. etc.
A lot of German heavy metal. They've got good power metal with bands like Helloween and good thrash with bands like Kreator, Destruction, Tankard, blahblahblah.

I tend towards Death Metal which has elements and influences of other genres in it - metalcore, black metal, groove metal, grindcore. Most straight up death (and, indeed, straight up thrash) leaves me a little bit bored for some reason.

Staind has some really good ballads/hard rock work. The one complaint I have with their music is that all the songs sound the same, or they start to after listening to them for awhile.

my fasher has networked ALL the computers in our house so lately i have been listing to a lot of the Queers, dead Kennedys, misfits, Rise against, a lot of punk and alternative. mostly from 70's-90's but rise against is fairly new. i had some of them already, but i now have more.

I'm a metal man myself. Mostly finnish folk-metal like Finntroll, Turisas, Viikate. Though Cruachan and Rhapsody tingle my ears nicely too. But as a freak I am, I listen to many other stuff too. Boney M. is my shame and I enjoy classical too.

My favourite bands are: Foo Fighters, Linkin Park, Blink 182, Reel Big Fish, Millencolin, Motor Ace, Ben Folds and Travis.

Favourite would be a tough choice between Foo Fighters and Linkin Park. So tough that I can't actually decide.

Well, my favorite band is without a doubt Queen. No one else comes close. If I had to pick a top three, I would probably make #2 Nightwish and #3 Metallica. I do like a wide variety of other bands, though, including:

Whew.

I also listen to a ton of classical music - Beethoven, Mozart, Tchaikovsky, and Handel especially - and a lot of film scores - Hans Zimmer, James Horner, and Ennio Morricone being my favorites there.
