Anybody else into Jazz?

Jazz, like opera and classical, are also on my list but not listened to frequently. All of the CDs of these types in my collection are "best of" and other compilations.

Someting I forgot to mention was a bit of ragtime. My Scott Joplin disc goes through cycles of being in my player for weeks at a time, and then sit in the rack for a few months. I should jsut rip it to my computer.

To a certain extent.

Once jazz hits the squeeky bits in the 1950s/60s I tend to tune out. I really like a theme before variations. So colour me in for Louis Armstrong and his Hot Five/Seven. :)

These are the bands which I own all CDs of, and rarely skip songs on the CDs:

Rush
Weezer
Cake
Barenaked Ladies
Tool/A Perfect Circle (Maynard rules)

The major American thrash and Death Metal bands, as well as plenty of other lesser known bands. Anthrax, Testament, Overkill, Suffocation, Sadus, Death, Exodus, Suicidal Tendencies, D.R.I., Death, Morbid Angel, Obituary, Benediction, Pestilence, Diabolic, Brutality, etc. etc. etc.
A lot of German heavy metal. They've got good power metal with bands like Helloween and good thrash with bands like Kreator, Destruction, Tankard, blahblahblah.
Rap music, the two bands that got me hooked on that were Public Enemy and Beastie Boys.
Muse-Sick-N-Hour Message, I pretty much have that damn thing memorized!
Fishbone. Der.
Anything Mike Patton has done, is doing, or will do.

Wow, a couple people metioned Rammstein. I dig them. I also like Rage against the Machine, Concrete Blonde, Evanescence, 30 Seconds to Mars. You will also find in my cd player things like Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra, and Harry Connick Junior though. I like Jazz music, and I love Irish folk music. Lately I have been listening to a lot of kids' music. :\ Laurie Berkner isn't bad though. :)

I feel ashamed, I haven't even heard of half of the bands on here (I am in my 20's, but yes, I am familiar with the works of Zepplin, The Who, and the Doors).

I don't know if I have a favorite, but I enjoy all of Staind's and Nickelback's work.

If you like Fantasy, Rock 'n Roll, and women, Led Zeppelin is for you.

They had multiple songs about Tolkien stuff, and I can't believe their music doesn't appeal to even more gamers.

Staind has some really good ballads/hard rock work. The one complaint I have with their music is that all the songs sound the same, or they start to after listening to them for awhile.

cheers,
