Favote Fantasy RPG(s) other than D&D

For generic fantasy, I wouldn't bother with anything BUT D&D*. Beyond that, I would have to say 7th Sea would be my alternative (or L5R, if we're going beyond psuedo-middle ages European fantasy).

* I've tried Chronicles of Ramlar, Rolemaster/MERP and Pendragon, but I always fall back on D&D because of its genericness and support.

On a break from a game of Treasure right now. Or to be correct I'm dead. Chased a bloody minotaur down a corridor and ran straight into his mates. Who, basically, gored me. But it's OK, Rob's turned me into a zombie and I'm following them around until they find a temple altar to 're-instate me', as what and in what shape is a dice roll away. Ho hum :heh:

Better go make bups of tea for teh bloodstained troops :)

Fantasy game systems I have GMed (and found satisfactory, starting with the most satisfactory):
  1. Warhammer Fantasy RolePlay (1st edition, 2nd is probably even better).
  2. Vampire: Dark Ages
  3. Castle Falkenstein (Viktorian Steampunk)
  4. MERP

Regards,
Ruemere
