Favourite Names for Weapons

The list goes on.

Weapon names are a huge fantasy convention and its a tragety that more weapons are not named in D&D. It has been my experience that only artifacts, epic weapons, or intelligent weapons are so named. Here are a list of named weapons from games I've played in or games I've ran.

The Falling Dawn - Morningstar artifact that caused concussive force when it struck the ground.

Sagikius the Sword of Montargus - Epic Nodachi forged by Eneg, the Devil's Talon (artificer of the gods), one of the 13 king's death age weapons.

Colliar the Mighty - +6 heavy pistol which only requires shot not powder or wadding.

Creth Manis, the Demonsword of the Talon - Epic Bastardsword forged by Eneg, the Devil's Talon, "Creth" being a campaign specific term to indicate 'possessed by' or 'inbued with'. This weapon contained the Demon Manis.

I gave one of my players an an intelligent bastard sword once, and he named him "Ijilan Zan-debejo" which was the local language for "Talks All Night". We called him "Idgie" for short.

The sword liked to compose and recite poetry whilst not being used for combat. He eventually gave it away to his paladin brother, as their personalities were better suited.

My current character's Weapons for our upcoming campaign:
Matched, Keen, Serrated Rapier and Dagger (some are non-core bonuses)
Both weapons were forged by master Drow weaponsmiths and have black/grey blades.

Rapier: Heartgrinder
Dagger: Spinesplinter

I call him... Mini-Me.

I just remembered another one. We found an intelligent dagger at the beginning of our last campaign. The dagger didn't trust us enough to tell us its name (or the DM didn't come up with one), but it talked with a cockney-ish accent and wasn't very inteligent, so it referred to lots of things as "wossname". As in, "The wossnames made this place. You know, the big wossnames who have the the wossname?" We affectionately christened the dagger "Wossname." (And lost it a couple sessions later when the PC carrying it was charmed into leaping into a one-way portal, getting himself and Wossname scattered across 14 dimensions.)

"Vengeance" - +2 unholy scythe
"Defender" - +2 holy scythe, created from "Vengeance"
"Dragonaxe" - originally +2 greataxe, over time was upgraded to a +3 Flaming greataxe
"Numion" - titanium +2 unholy greatsword
"Razorfang" - +3 dagger of wounding

... that's all I can think of right now

I played a Ftr/Rog named Johnny Bones, a TWF-style specialist with a Masterwork rapier named "Truth" and a Masterwork kukri named "Rumor."

After all, both hurt.

Unfortunately, the campaign imploded before I could get them enchanted...
