A lance named "Goat".

A goat named "Lance".
What were the bonuses on Lance?

I think one of my favorite named weapons is from Snow Crash.
Reason is a multibarreled needlegun-style rail gun that fires small heavy fragments of depleted uranium at super high speeds that will penetrate nearly anything.

I think the only weapon I ever named was the Stormclaw, a +2 Shocking Burst Thundering Mercurial Longsword a knight of mine once used. It wasn't all that special normally, but on a natural 20 that bugger blasted the hell outta whatever happened to be in it's way.

Mercy - 2e Holy Avenger wielded by a paladin
Ashen Kiss - a +2 Flaming Longspear
Soulcleaver - +3 bane(human) scythe
The Virtues - artifact weapon a rapier that would multiply into seven rapiers when it struck a target each one with a classical virtue prominently shown on the blade
Elfmauler - +3 bane(elf) dwarven waraxe
Unremitting Hatred - +2 bane(goblinoid) greatsword
Illumination of Reason - artifact weapon not a physical weapon a device that became part of the character and materialized as a vortex of glowing fractal mathematics from the character that attacked the target
Desolation - fairly ordinary magical axe but any place it rested more than a day all plant life within 20 foot radius died.
Mirror of Eternity - +2 Spiked shield with reflecting quality
Damnation of Purity - +4 Unholy Bane(angel) trident
Righteous Prejustice - +3 Holy Longsword
Hellforged Caduceus - +2 Unholy Flaming Burst QuarterStaff
Harmony Resurgent - artifact weapon not physical but manifested as a glowing white/silver/gold corona that extended eagle talons made of light that attacked

"Рассвет" & "Сумрак" ("Rassvet" & "Symrak", "Daybreak" & "Nightfall"), a pair of vicious broadblade shortswords used to great effect by a catfolk rogueish military commander.

"翠玉爪" ("Suigyokutsume", "Emerald Claw"), a pair of bracelets that when commanded flow over and reinforce the user's nails, endowing unarmed attacks with the qualities of Jade.

"Úriehtë" ("Sunspear"), a shattered desert elf relic greatspear reassembled by an undying elf hunter, himself brought back from beyond the Veil by the love of his mate.

"Voice Of Reason" & "Benefit Of The Doubt", matched hand crossbows used by a human swashbuckler/rogue in the age of enlightenment.

"Equinox", an Nyss ancestral claymore wielded by the heiress to a Shadow Nyss noble house striving for a balance between darkness and light.

"Stratosphere", a legacy glasssteel round heavy shield that 2 millennia after being lost, was reunited with its air mephling owner, the proxy of Akadi.

The Detomace - Morning star whose head exploded as a 10d6 fireball.

Ironbright - Talking sword intended for a paladin but owned by a catgirl. Fired bolts of energy.

Coat of Arms - In a Buffy game, a magic trenchcoat with an attached pocket dimension allowing the wearer to retrieve stored items, usually weapons.

Keeper's Grace - a levelling longsword with primarily defending abilities
The King of Crimson Iron - a +3 intelligent warhammer (dwarven personality)

I almost always try to have any weapons of masterwork quality or better be named, however most are simple names like Ice, Thorn, Sliver, or translations of those into fantasy languages.

I'm interested in hearing what names your characters may have given their weapons (and the kind of weapon it was!).

For instance Drizzt has his scimitars Icingdeath and Twinkle.

"Icingdeath" and "Twinkle" sound like things you'd find in the Keebler elves kitchen.

Bernie the elf: Hey where do I put this empty icing container?
Ernie the elf: Toss it in the basket marked "Icingdeath." Oh and we need more jimmies, grab a handful out of the "Twinkle" basket would you?

I've only ever had one character name weapons. They were
The Treypier: A masterwork rapier that had belonged to a fallen comrade, a rogue named Trey. Named in memory of his being ripped apart by a scorpion with whips for hands. Three crits against a rogue with 9 constitution and 6 seconds later there wasn't enough left of him to fill a matchbox.

The Sphinxter: Later in the game my fighter/rogue managed to pick up an adamantine greatsword. It was named several sessions later when it nearly managed to behead a sphinx in one shot (Crit + Sneak). The character was an incorrigible, crude sort and so it seemed like a name he would pick.
