Favourite "Post-Human" PC Race?

Azurins: Those incarnum infused humans, where everything is blue, blue, blue...

Elan: Those spooky Post-Humans turned into abberations with a psionic metabolism.

The rest of these guys aren't post-human. They're still more or less regular humans with a few bells and whistles.

The Illumians are the most interesting new fantasy race I've read about in the last 10 years. As a bonus, they fit perfectly into Eberron (not an accident, I'm sure), with their cutural emphasis on cabals and scheming.

I chose the elan, not necessarily because they're psionic (although I like the revised psionics system), but because I found their version of a racial secret society more interesting than the illumians' version.

Which is not to say that I would hesitate to find a place for any of the three races mentioned in my games. I'm more in favour of post-human races than "traditional" fantasy garbage like elves.

My personal favorite is probably the Kalashtar from Eberron. The whole familial link to a quori spirit is quite cool, IMO.

Of the choices in the poll, I think the Illumians have more of a distinct niche than the other two.

Elan for me, and amusingly, no I generally don't use psionics.

I don't know, I just dig the whole secret society thing where the inner circle have transcended themselves such they control their body rather than their body holding sway over them.

EDIT: Do Necropolitans count as "post-human?" Elans prove that a type-change doesn't disqualify you from that descriptor.

We always figured the final step of the ritual was the quite "thump" of the, er, extra organ dropping away, and a triumphant, "Hisssss."

Don't think that'd work quite so cleanly for post-female Mojh, though...You'd need something like, I don't know, a big, sharpened melon-baller.
