What did you think of "Unfamiliar Familiars" and the CCGold new monsters (since I wrote 'em, I'm always eager for feedback)?

I'm always a fan of new familiar types, and I'd only seen the fox elsewhere (different familiar ability, though); the rooster was great. ;)

The ogdoads weren't my cup of tea, though their stats and concepts were fine. The illujans, on the other hand, I quite liked and could easily see using in my game.

Doing the jumbo counters up as WEs is a great idea, and it's a hoot to see the tarrasque next to any of the others. I'm pretty vocal about how much I like FDP's counters in general -- for me, they strike exactly the balance I look for between accuracy and leaving room for imagination. Keep it up! :)

Thanks!

And just for completeness' sake, there's a juvenile (Gargantuan) Tarrasque in CCGold, just so there would be a tarrasque in there... :)

Not sure why I didn't mention it while this thread was more active, but my campaign has been using FDP's counters from the start (nearly a year now), and we take pictures of our battlemaps during the sessions. These get posted on our campaign site, alongside written journals of each game.

In case you're interested, I've attached a couple of particularly good map shots to this post. There's more on the site, 3d6.org, in the Journals section. :)

Also, a quick question: have you ever considered doing a set of larger counters that includes things like boat decks, wagons suitable for a caravan, and the like? That seems like it'd be a useful resource (I knocked together some boat counters for one session, but they weren't anything to write home about...).
