Feat at Level One

was

Adventurer
Okay, so the group wants to houserule that all races get a Feat at first level. I'm okay with that but that kind of cheats Humans (we use the variant rule). Having humans with two feats at level one seems a bit much, so I am left with trying to find an option to compensate them. Here's what I am toying with:
Human
+1 to all stats
Proficient in one extra skill of the player's choice
Proficient in one extra save of the player's choice
One extra language of the player's choice

Does anybody see any potential problems with this? Is it not enough or too much?

Its all about your game and what you want to do with it.
The other races have GREAT abilities that make them better than humans IMO.
NO one in my game has yet played a human as the perks of dwarf half orc or even half orc
are too good !

I don't see any particular problems with that approach.

Another option would be to allow them one special ability from any other race (other than things like the Dragonborn breath weapon). You could reduce the list a bit if you wanted.

Of course, you could consider those special abilities similar to a feat, in which case the extra feat for humans may not be too big a deal.

Having said that, levels 1-3 go by very quickly in this edition. So the wait for a feat isn't that big a deal.
