D&D (2024) Do you understand the words coming out of my mouth? - Languages in 2024

Marvel had to cram their stories into a series of 2-to-3 hour movies. As DMs we don't face nearly that same time constraint, and thus are free to delve into details and minutae such as diversity of in-setting languages that those movies didn't have time for.
I was being facetious.

As for Marvel, they could have easily taken the approach of the 13th Warrior in the first few minutes where as they're talking Asgardian (with subtitles for the audience) it slowly develops to English (i.e. to reflect to the audience they're speaking another language)....

That just kicks the can. Why do humans have more pantheons? (Also, they don’t in my setting).

The implication seems to be that everyone else is less special than humans.
Sorry for necro reply.

In my campaign, humans have more and varied pantheons overall because their "racial" god was either killed or never existed.

Sometimes, cultures with a racial pantheon* look down upon or pity the poor abandoned humans.

*except elves, they kinda have a "reach perfection and become one with nature semi-Buddhist philosophy. Their "gods" are more like examples.
