This sounds like a cool idea Crothian. I have a couple of questions though.
In games like Iron Heroes, characters are already getting a feat every other level just from being PCs and, usually a feat (or class feature) on the alternate levels from their classes. Basically, every class is a fighter. So this effectively doubles the non-class specific feats they get. That doesn't sound so bad. However, I can see this being problematic in either of the following two situations:
1) Feat-based magic systems, where spell access is controlled via feats.
2) Systems (like Iron Heroes with escalating power level in the feats). On the other hand, the feat mastery system effectively prevents them from jumping UP feat chains too fast.
Thoughts? Do you own IH? If so, do you think increasing the number of feats available in that system would be problematic? Or not?
Just wondering.
