Many people feel Combat Casting is not a good deal. Yes you get an additional +1, but it only applies in certain circumstances. It doesn't help, for example, when you have to make a Concentration check because of damage taken.

What they said. I used to take Combat Casting all the time. Then a wise friend pointed out SKill Focus and I had an epiphany.

As for the girlfriend, don't ditch her--get her into gaming!

Somehow, I saw that coming... I was more joking about that. My girlfriend rocks... she is beautiful, wonderful and European, Belarussian to be specific. She understand the need for me to play and she does support my habit hobby.

I have thought about it and I will try it someday. Unfortunately, she is not so patient and could not sit around for hours at a time and she would really need to learn a lot more English to fully appreciate the game.
