Feat to extend sneak attack range?

What do people think about a feat that would extend sneak attack range? Say, doubling it? Would that be unbalancing?

Not if it has enough requirements. It's mor epowerful then it seems. THere's one in traps and treachery, and I almost did a TPK using it against my PCs.

Yes, it is very powerful. I'm currently having a discussion whether or not to allow it in our campaign. I'm currently against it but am willing to hear arguments to the contrary. Can you tell me a bit about the prerequisites you would want?

Personally, I think it should be epic and each ytime one takes it extends the damage by an additional 30ft. It would also apply extending wepaon specilaization, ranger favored enemy, and other things that have that 30ft damage range.

Epic aside, no. Not a good idea, this is one of the special focal points of balance we're not supposted to touch... The main idea being that you need to remain close enugh so that the target can get to you with a standard move.

My problem with this is that you can't hit a collossal red-dragon's collossal vitals any farther away then you can the tiny vitals of a tiny grig. For a while I had a house rule to change this, but it's really more troubble than it's worth, so I abandon it.

I have one on my D&D site (Crossbow Master) that lets you make sneak attacks with a crossbow out to its first range increment. It has a stack of prereqs though, and requires a full-round action to make one attack.
