Feats to rules

Hi, in my next campaign, I plan to add to the combat rules the "Climb aboard" benefit from the Giantbane tactical feat from CW.

I'm curious to hear what you think about it, but more about which feats you consider should be added directly to skill or combat rules ? (Some diplomacy-based feats from CAdv for example)

PHB2 shield ward. Sheild AC to touch attacks and other effects.{except the shield takes damage / is pulled off when it does block a ray or other effect]

I don't know if there was a feat to do it, but IMHO Spears should automaticly do double damage against charging foes. [but you'd HAVE to remove hold the line]

Really, Nobody else with input? I could have sworn some posters have said there are too many feats that should have been combat options...

Honestly, and I haven't thought out any implications for it, but Power Attack/Combat Expertise should be a combat option for those with enough BAB. (+5?)

Indeed, I'd like most of the basic feats to be combat options.

Koewn -> Combat Expertise already is a combat option. It's called Fighting Defensively. Combat Expertise is Fighting Defensively Plus.

True, but if you're going to add one, may as well add the other.

Quick Draw should also be a "if you have enough BAB" maneuver. An extension of the "draw weapon as a free action as part of a move action with +1 BAB".

So you take -4 to hit in exchange for +2 damage, +3 if you're wielding a two-handed weapon (a weaker version of Power Attack)?

Reckless Offensive

-4 to AC in exchange for +2 to hit. I don't believe there was a way to get +3 in the 3.0 version. There might be in the 3.5 version...

The rules (more specifically, Unearthed Arcana) states you should balance a bonus to hit with a penalty to AC, because the character might not even be in danger (reach weapon, for instance). Trading damage for hit bonus (representing furious, wild swings, as opposed to a single concentrated blow) offers less options for abuse.

+2 attack for -2 AC is, essentially, a charge.
