Feature Request: Clear Notifications On Visit

Hi all.

While I like in principle the idea of being informed when I've been quoted, got a PM, etc. in the "Your Notifications" link, it would be nice to be able to clear those automatically without having to actually visit my activities page, which can take a while to load during a busy period.

Could we have a profile option which simply says "Clear all unread notifications on site visit", and that does just that?

I agree; I'd love that, too. Right now I don't know how to do it, though. I'll continue looking, but there's no guarantee it's within my ability.
