The only restrictions Velocity Addicts have skills-wise is on Drive and Martial Arts/Guns.

Well, I suppose the group is full up now. I have a friend who is probably going to be joining (oop, he just told me he posted while I'm typing this), so that puts us at either six or seven (depending on if Radiant is still in).

Count me out, I'm more than a little busy at the moment anyway. :)

That's not what I'm talking about. I'm just checking for input on how to deal with doing an active dodge - i.e. When an enemy attacks you, you can choose to spend a shot to actively dodge rather than stick with a passive dodge.

Not that I'm all that familiar with the system, but the simplest way seems to have the player declare under what circumstances they'll use a shot for an active dodge, prior to the enemy's action.

Doh! I'm an idiot. I even browsed through the characters already posted and completely missed your submission for some reason. I'll post a new PC, don't worry about it.

The above post will be edited with a new PC shortly.

Jesse

I appreciate it. It's not a huge deal, but I've had bad experiences with niche protection in the past. (I was a Ranger, grooving on the woodland thing, the DM brought in a Ranger DMPC a few levels higher than me - it wasn't pretty.)

EDIT - oops! Wrong identity! This is tsadkiel wearing my Star Wars hat.

First the Yakuza, then the Triads, and now the Tongs are getting involved -- and before you ask, the Triads and the Tongs are not one and the same.

The Tongs were rather notorious in San Francisco back in the olden days. Since they usually used hatchets in those days, the press called them "hatchet-men." That term is still sometimes used today to refer to hitmen and people paid to ruin others.

This is going to be really interesting. I think we've got the makings of a regular Hong Kong Blood Opera here!

Alrighty, now that I'm done working for the week, I've taken me a good nap, gotten a little sauced up, and have taken the time to look over your characters. Everything looks good with two minor exceptions, and I'll start up with the first post in the game either later tonight or tomorrow afternoon. More immediately, however...

Velmont: Greased Lightning can only be taken once. You can put multiple schticks in Jackrabbit Start or Ram Speed!, however. Oh yeah, and what's your signature car?

Cepter: Damn it all, man! Fix your martial arts AV before you make me angry! You've been warned!

I got your fixed AV right...in the post. See, it's there.

As far as finger removal, that would have been dear old Dad, most likely. Shinji was only given the torturer role when his father screwed up. Before that, he was more of an enforcer. But he might have seen it when he was younger, or been involved in some other way.

Ok, I took another JackRabbit Start instead of Greased Ligthning. The car I will have, will be an old camaro who have been rebuild and modified to preferm better.

A vintage camaro, huh? Something like this, or more like this? Either way, I'll give it +2 Pep/8 Wreck. A short description of it would be nice, too. After all, during any driving action it's pretty much your character.

Now that everybody's done, I'm going to be starting the game later today, just as soon as I can finish juggling triads, tongs, gangs, and invading yakuza in my head here. I did have a very different idea of what I wanted to do, but now I'm thinking of an all-out war (with your characters caught dead in the middle, of course) between the different organisations - and the groups pulling their strings.
