OOC: It wouldn't be unreasonable if he had tried. But it wouldn't be unreasonable for him to stop too.

One more clairification, while they split generaly near each other, they did not all just split simultaniously, and some had more footprints than others. I don't think I was every specificly clear on that.

"So ya wanna ask this guy some questions, or do ya wanna try one a th' other trails?"
"If he's one of them and brazen enough to stick around this long, he'll be brazen enough to hang around the festival for another try", remarked Oirhandir. "We can all mark his face, then question him after we try the other trails."

Troi nods. "Alright... on ta th' next one, then."

He retraces the trail and takes the one second from the left.

OoC: I figured that they hadn't all split at the same spot, but in the same general area, so that saying "the leftmost one" would at least make some sense.

The second trail continues a bit, but Troi looses it as it enters a camp. It looks like it was at least 3 sets of tracks.

You've now been at this for almost 2 hours. The trail splits after a good 5-10 minute run from Valdor's camp.

OOC: Oh, the left most one made sense. Just letting you know.

OOC:Was that a typo? It looks like it's missing something. Also, when you say Troi loses it as it enters a camp, do we get the impression that someone ran for a while, then slunk off into a camp when they thought the pursuit was over, or that someone ran into a camp as either pursuer or pursued, or that someone ran for a while, gave up, and doubled back into the closest camp?

OOC: Yes (fixed) and as far as Troi can tell, they were still running at the time, though he's not sure who, or when (Tracks are too close in time to dicriminate)

Oirhandir listened as Troi muttered something about "...they were still running...then all these other tracks are over them..." as he approached the boundary of another camp. "Let's ask if anyone here remembers anyone running through their camp", suggested the bard. "And, we can always see if we can pick up the trail on the other side of this camp, too." Oirhandir strode into the camp, trying to see if any of the inhabitants were awake at this late hour.

Oirhandir spots a single woman standing watch.
Oirhandir raised a hand in greeting and spoke warmly: "Greetings, good woman, I am Oirhandir and fear I may be missing something. There was a dash through this area earlier tonight...do you recall if someone ran through your camp, perhaps two hours ago? Oh, and this is my companion Troi, and that is Lasair behind him."
