Festival of Halina: Adventurers Gone Wild! (Orsal Judging)

Elise bows her head to carsis "You miss out on too many emotions when you know what's coming."

"If we were going to be helpless, wouldn't we be helpless whether we could see it coming or not? Can we change the future or are all of our actions written in stone, not because of fate, but because it is simply the actions we would choose?"

"Those who can see the possible futures are able to choose actions the guide the future to the one of their choosing...That is what the Seers can do. The most powerful of them can distort time to literally erase a future that they find repugnant--it is quite an impressive power."

"Very inpressive, I always learned that the future was absolute, and that peering into it was a messy and wholly depressing feat. No wizard I've ever heard of has even tried to peer more than moments into the future, and just that to give them a heads up to iminent danger. I always thought, to change a time line would require nothing short of divinty." Elise grows quiet, first of awe then a sort of pondering "A suppose a wizard could, a diviner probly, at the peak of power. She would be a thing of legends..."

"I do not know of these Diviners, but seeing just how powerful you Wizards are, I believe that your magic could do it, Elise. But I know for sure that the Seers can do so...A great Seer's First-Sister was bitten by a snake whose venom is instantly fatal, and she died, but the seer was able to ripple the timeline and revert backwards just long enough to pull her sister out of the way."

"Playing with the future can be tricky though, for you may see one event clearly, but not the event after that. Sacrifices are made all the time, and often, the death of one can lead to the salvation of many. It takes someone truely wise to know what to change, and how."

Carsis waves to Oirhandir, Sunny, and Troi "Good morning gentilemen. I trust you're better today Sunny?"

Sunny nods "Yup, good as new."

Oirhandir waved back to Carsis. "Good morning", he nodded. "Troi and I, and Sunny were going to investigate the Freefolk camp today. I believe Elise and Lasair were going to see Daphne. And if anyone sees Scarlet before I do, please give her my regards and let her know I'll try to break free this even to see her."

"Incredible. How does one change the present without changing themself, did it creaste two seers? Did the seer from the first timeline disappear with the timeline or did she replace the one from what would be the new timeline? As she reverted did she age? Did she grow younger in accordance with time passage? Would she age once, twice or thrice? Were there other visable side effects? Did the original timeline wink out of existence or is it floating in the aether. What if it wasn't destoryed, would a seer still exist in the original timeline? Have you seen such a feat? How long does the ritual take? Whats materials do you need? Has anyone ever abused this power? How do you stop someone who can shape time to their will? Incredible"

*Lasair smiles at all the questions, and does her best to answer them one by one.*

"Well...let's see. It didn't create two seers, so I guess you could say that the seer from the first timeline replaced the seer from the new timeline. But she didn't age. In fact, everything about her reverted to the way it was earlier on except that she had knowledge of her original timeline and the power she had expended to change the future was gone. I believe that the original timeline no longer exists, as it was shaped to become this one. I have never seen it happen myself, but I have seen the seer's Sister who was saved, and she is indeed still alive. The seer's power takes but the wink of an eye to activate, and requires nothing but an expenditure of the user's own power. I do not know of anyone who has abused it...All of the Seers I know are wise and good. I do not think you can stop it without stopping the seer."

Elise mutters something indistinct, then stands "I'll be right back" Jogging off to the tent, she returns with her equipment Pulling out pen and paper she quickly jots down much of what she has heard.
