Festival of Halina (Orsal Judging)

OoC: [sblock]Whichever you feel comfortable with. I realize that my absence was untimely and unannounced, so I have no issue with you saying, "Hey, you vanished, you don't get to do stuff." I also don't have an issue going through what happened. Your call.[/sblock]

Oirhandir doubted that Scarlet could have said anything that would have pleased him more. "It's easy with the right woman", he grinned, "and there's no woman at this entire festival that I'd rather be with right now than you."

He sighed. How could a moment be so pleasant and so frustrating at the same time? "I wish I could spend all evening with you", he continued. "Forget about Ingus and his caravan, and just spend the whole night "
Oirhandir only gets so far before he finds his lips obstructed by something soft and supple. Scarlet holds him tight as she presses her lips to his in a long, elegant kiss that seems to last ages, yet is over in an instant. She smiles and blushes a bit before saying "I think all yer talkin mighta got ya in trouble, and that's a much better way to end the night."

Before he can respond, she kisses him again, though short just a short peck on the lips, it still catches Oirhandir off guard. "Feel free ta stop by again hon." she says before she rises and walks away from the stunned bard.

Troi returns from a long day of keeping the peace, having spotted several would be thieves durring the day, and detaining one particularly dastardly halfling fellow who enjoyed trying to hide under women's dresses while the women were in them.

Shortly thereafter, Oirhandir returns to camp, a slight bit tipsy, but with an odd mixture of supprise and joy on his face.

Tired, perhaps a bit tipsy, and hopefully throughly enjoying yourselves, you each take your watches and somehow manage to stay awake. Fortunately, watch is uneventful beyond the occasional merchant packing up and leaving, or a new merchant coming to take the old one's space. This leaves you as well rested as you could be given the situation, and the dawning of a new day means the festival begins once again.

"That I will", he mumbled softly as a huge grin spread across his face.

On the way back to the north field and Ingus's camp, Oirhandir sang one of the songs he'd learned on one of his voyages, his heart bursting with pride.

OOC:[sblock]This would be the EnWorld equivalent of:

A British tar is a soaring soul
As free as a mountain bird
His energetic fist should be ready to resist
A dictatorial word
His nose should pant and his lip should curl
His cheeks should flame and his brow should furl
His bosom should heave and his heart should glow
And his fist be ever ready for a knock-down blow

His eyes should flash with an inborn fire
His brow with scorn be wrung
He never should bow down to a domineering frown
Or the tang of a tyrant tongue
His foot should stamp and his throat should growl
His hair should curl and his face should scowl
His eyes should flash and his breast protrude
And this should be his customary attitude[/sblock]

It's the dawn of a new day. You're all now 10 gold richer, except Troi, who is now 30 gold richer.

Troi, the Sherriff asked to see you whenever you're up and able again today for your assignment.

The rest of you, the festival calls...

Oirhandir waited for an opportune moment, then privately approached Ingus with a proposal.

"Ingus", he began, "I have found you to be a fair and at times, even a generous employer. Now, I would ask a boon of you. Consider it well, for you may find that it is to your advantage as well as to mine." The elf continued: "My bow is a fine weapon, but barely up to the standards of my people. I seek a better one, one a master bowyer would be proud to have carved. Once I have collected my pay for escorting your wagons back to Orussus, my purse will be fat enough to afford such a tool." Oirhandir paused.

"However, I was wondering if you might have such a bow in your stock. If you do, would you consider loaning it to me until we reach Orussus? I can pay the difference between my wages and the cost of the bow now, and you can just keep the gold you would have paid me to yourself. What say you, Ingus? Have you any fine bows that might be suitable for such a loan?"

OOC:[sblock]Specifically, Oirhandir is seeking a Masterwork Darkwood Composite Longbow with a +1 Strength modifier. If I have this right, it's 100 gp for the bow, 300 gp for masterwork quality, 100 gp for the strength modifier, and 3 lb X 10 gp=30 gp for having it made of Darkwood, for a total of 530 gp. With his overnight pay from last night, Oirhandir now has 349 gp available if Ingus would like more of the cost up front.[/sblock]

"No, on the contrary--it is quite fascinating; I could listen to you teaching me about these things for hours and still it would be exciting! In the back of my mind, I also think that maybe if I can learn from you, it will help lead me to deeper understanding of myself--just like when two wizards share a scroll, except a bit different because we are more different..."

(OOC:[SBLOCK]Heh, yeah--that's why the made the YTL (known as the Turkish New Lira, or the Yertle by me): too many zeros. As for the Grease spell--it's almost as fun as a barrel full of monekys![/SBLOCK])

Elise laughs lightly "Truth! But there will always be more time to learn. Perhaps we should turn in for the night, all the scrolls seem in order, and it's starting to get late" she starts to pack up the scrolls marking them for easy refence "I was hoping to get an early start tomorrow, anything you wanted to do?"

[sblock] understandably so, as for the barrel of monkies, would it not be even more fun if they themselves were greased?[/sblock]

"Yes, you're probably right--I suppose we should get some sleep," Lasair yawns.

"Anything I want to do? Not particularly," she admits, having visited most of the festival already.

"Well, while I do not have one here, I believe I can probably aquire one to sell to you for the normal price. But, I don't think I will be able to sell it to you till you can actualy pay for it." Ingus says.

OOC: 530 is right.

"O well, We'll" involinarily yawning "Find something to do tomorrow, other than having Valdor show off his wares"
