"Erm, I wonder why those guards are grabbing Sunny like that?" Lasair asks Elise, though she does not whisper, so others may hear her as well.

"What? Why!?" Elise takes a few steps toward the commotion "What's going on?"

Before you can manage to leave, there is some comotion ammong the fetivities, as the mayor, the sheriff, and 2 of his deputies approach Ingus's camp. They march in and drag Sunny out of bed. The Sherrif ties Sunnys hands behind his back, and his cries fall on deaf ears. "What did I do?" Cries Sunny. "You know sure well what you did." yells the Mayor, "And you'll pay for it properly."
Oirhandir had just finished his morning meditations and packed away his chimes when he heard a disturbance taking place outside his tent. Peering out, he witnessed the spectacle of the mayor, the sheriff, and two guards seizing Sunny, and heard the mayor make some vague accusation as to the wizard's misdeeds.

The bard approached the mayor. "Your Honor, my most sincere apology for the interruption", he gently spoke. "But would you mind telling me what my companion has done that has so upset the peace and tranquility of this place?"

Ohhhhhhhhhh, it was that. I managed to ignore it because it was under a dotted line, and the parser in mind assumes that anything under a line is a sig

As the guards begin escorting Sunny into town, the Sheriff calls for Troi to follow him, which he does after a quick look at the rest of you.

The mayor turns to face Oirhandir ready to yell at him, but manages to stop and compose himself a bit before speaking. "If you wish to inquire about this, you are welcome to come to the Sheriff's office, where we will conduct this a bit more... descretely. But if you'll excuse me, I have important business to attend to."

He turns and begins to follow the guards.

*Lasair is nonplussed.*

"Elise, would it be the correct thing to do in your culture to defend an ally's freedom from imprisonment until hearing of the alleged crimes? I do know that back home, no one had the right to do something like this."

(OOC: She is ready to try her hand at Diplomacy [+9], followed by a Charm if the first fails, based on what Elise responds)

Sorry, I was waiting on GW, because depending on what he did, he may have been one of the may have been one of the guards coming to arest Sunny ;)

Elise: You know that while crimes are not always private, some instances are delt with as little as possable in public, and those not in immediate family often have to inquire with the Sheriff for information. However, it may from town to town.

Under different circumstances, Oirhandir might have been suspicious or offended. But the mayor seemed genuinely enraged by some unfortunate turn of events, and Oirhandir had difficulty imagining how an individual who would arrest a stranger on some trumped-up charge could rise to govern a community that venerated a goddess like Halina. The elf accepted that whatever had actually happened, the mayor sincerely believed that Sunny had committed some great injustice.

"I thank you, sir, for that invitation", Oirhandir replied, and he added rather circumspectly, "...and of course discretion will be observed as is appropriate."

As the guards prepare to march Sunny away, the elf turned to Ingus. "Master Ingus", he inquired, "Do you have any idea as to what this is all about? And if you don't, I beg your pardon to take leave and investigate this without delay."
