Leshy (singular, there is only one of him - at least per forest) is not always described as small - at other times he was described as 'towering over the woods and mountains'...

In a 16th C setting I played a Character who was half-Leshy (who was equated with the Green Man of British lore) and yeah that Leshy was the gigantic personification of the forest kind (when he manifest it was as a tangling of the branches and leaves of the trees)
