Fighter Math (high level campaigns)

I played a High Level Ranger/Fighter, but I could handle most of the Math - though I sometimes forgot the moral bonus from Inspire xyz or Bless...
Keeping the Math right became much worse when I switched to Druid/Shifter - its not only the Attack Bonus that changes, it is the damage (including dies, not only some flat number bonus), Armor Class and often enough even special abilities...

When we play we ditch the variable buffs and give them standard levels. Bull STR always gives +3, frex. Then we write up a list of standard buffs, and their effects. Then everyone's sheet has a note card attached with the buffed stats.

And for easily forgotten bonuses, like bardic music or Bless, it's the job of the bonus supplier to remind everyone that they get the bonus (and what it applies to).

But yeah, it's a bunch to track. Pity your DM! He's got the same problems as you, except that he's got more characters.

PS

Yes, but if he loses a NPC because he forget a single point of Armor Class, he can reuse the stat block without hearing the others complaining about his lack of creativity :)
