Fighter, spelled F-I-T-R

This has been the topic of some discussion among my friends and I over the last few days. I enjoy playing melee-oriented classes, and an attempt to do anything else usually ends with poorly.

I admit, I've got a lousy head for numbers, which is probably why I gravitate towards Fighters, since it's the quintessential straightforward class. Run up to bad guy, beat him up, rinse & repeat.

Now I have a habit of playing "dumb" fighters, with low Intelligence and moderate to high Wisdom. This allows me both in and out of character to have some fun with things, such as making the ocassional profound deep thought when nobodies paying attention.

I know it's sort of a cliche, but does anyone else do it?

I like skill points, so Cha is my FITR dump stat, and usually Dex unless I'm going for something special. We also do point buy, so a dump stat is, at worst, an 8.

I love skill points too much. I refuse to play a character with less than 10 int, and generally higher if I can get it. If I'm playing a cleric, fighter, or paladin, I invariably play a human to get the extra skill points.

Also I myself am relatively intelligent, so rather than intentionally dumbing myself down for the sake of roleplaying, I'd rather just play a smart character.

I occasionally play fighters like this, but usually just to prove to haters that they can indeed be a viable class at high levels, with the right gear, and a well planned build. In such circumstances, I usually try to get at least a few points into wisdom, and some +wis gear, so my stunning fist attacks through my ki-strike weapons are somewhat effective.
